EndeavorOTC is a subscription-based mobile video game app designed to improve ADHD symptoms and attention. Developed by Akili Interactive Labs Inc., the app is clinically designed and built with the same technology as the FDA-authorized video game treatment, EndeavorRx. Aimed at adults 18 years and older with ADHD, EndeavorOTC targets inattention-related challenges that impact daily life.
In a clinical trial with over 220 participants, 83% experienced clinical improvement in their ability to focus, while 73% reported quality of life improvements. The game challenges players to tap targets and navigate obstacles, measuring performance and using adaptive algorithms to personalize the treatment. Playing every day for six weeks has shown to improve attention and other functions related to focus.
EndeavorOTC is made available under the FDA's current Enforcement Policy for Digital Health Devices for Treating Psychiatric Disorders during the COVID-19 public health emergency. It is recommended that patients consult with their healthcare provider before starting treatment.
